Be
certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water
Diver or have equivalent ratings.
Be 10 years of age or older.
The Underwater Photography Dive conducted during the PADI
Advanced Open Water program may be counted toward this speciality
at the discretion of the instructor conducting the Speciality
course. |
Course
overview |
This
course covers basic underwater photography with special emphasis
on practical photographic techniques:
the
planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and
hazards of underwater-photography diving.
photographic
principles, composition, film types, flash/available light
photography and camera-handling techniques.
the
preparation, care and maintenance of photographic equipment

This
course can be conducted over 1 to 3 days, it is completely
up to you as to how much information you need.
The courses all include two dives a day by boat or by shore,
the film for each dive, the print or slide developing, and
any batteries needed.
The one day course covers the basic use of the 35mm lens and
the macro lens with a dive using each lens as well as theory
before the dive and a review of the results after.
The second day covers the theory and use of the wide angle
lens in the morning followed by use of the close up lens.
The third day moves over to the video with 2 dives in this
popular area. |
